Bad Smoking And A Lot Of Other Bad Things

We all know that smoking is bad for us but so are a lot of other things that we do everyday. We overeat, do not exercise, stay at the office too many hours, allow stress to build up and basically, we do not take of the bodies that we were given. Smoking is bad for you and everyone around you that has to deal with your bad and possibly deadly habit.

Now just what can you do to take care of your bad smoking habit? Deep down inside you know the answer to your own question; you just do not want to hear the answer. And it is perfectly normal for people to ignore the bad things they are doing to their own bodies.

 

Did you know that every time you smoke a cigarette that you are shortening your life by several minutes? Now, you are thinking-so what, it is just a few minutes. But, if you are smoking 2 packs or more of cigarettes a day, you are using about 40 of them. Take that number of 40 and multiply it by a few minutes and then multiply the number you get by 7 days for the week, then 52 weeks for the year. Those few minutes that you were not worried about because of your bad smoking habit are now adding up to weeks, months and possibly even years.

When you stop to think about losing several years of your life because you are engaging in a bad smoking habit, are you really willing to do this? Do you want to see your children grow up? Do you want to see and enjoy your own grandchildren? Do you want to be sitting in a chair unable to move around without an oxygen bottle, too tired and too afraid to doing anything strenuous?

A bad smoking habit can be stopped. You are the only person that can make this happen. It will not matter how much people nag you or try to make you feel bad or even try to punish you. If you continue to smoke you know there nothing that anyone can do or say to make you stop. But, think about the long-term negative consequences of bad smoking. It might not affect you today, but it will several years from now.

Take the time to consider the benefits not only to you but to your children. Your bad smoking habit might be one that you will pass to them. Remember that children learn from adults and do you really want them to start smoking and dealing with the negative consequences of such a bad habit? Think about it. Your actions may affect generations of your own family.
